I saw a coyote running with a squirrel in his mouth across the street. The coyote drops the squirrel and starts chasing some kids playing outside. Another coyote shows up and starts chasing people in the parking lot of my funeral home. A black car crashes through the front door and the coyote's come inside and starts chasing customers and staff. I grab one by the tail and neck and throw him out, but he comes back.
Dreams involving animals often symbolize instincts, emotions, or aspects of our personality. In your dream, several elements stand out that can provide insight into its meaning:
Coyotes: Coyotes are often seen as tricksters in various cultures, representing cunning, adaptability, and survival instincts. Their presence in your dream may suggest that you're dealing with deceit or challenges that require you to be clever and resourceful. The coyote chasing children could symbolize perceived threats to innocence or vulnerability in your life or in your community.
Squirrel: Squirrels typically symbolize preparation, resourcefulness, and a playful yet serious side of life. The image of the coyote carrying a squirrel may represent a conflict between predatory instincts and a more playful, innocent energy. It could indicate a struggle between survival and simply enjoying life.
Setting: The funeral home can symbolically represent transitions, endings, or reflections on mortality and life changes. The chaos caused by the coyotes in this setting may signify feelings of instability or fear regarding a major change or ending in your life.
The Black Car: A car often symbolizes control over one’s life direction. A black car crashing into the funeral home might represent an abrupt realization of something hidden or fears coming to the surface, leading to chaos and disrupted plans.
Chasing and Confrontation: The chase indicates that you may feel overwhelmed by situations or emotions that seem out of control. Your act of grabbing and throwing the coyote out suggests a desire to regain control or protect yourself and others. However, the fact that the coyote returns may symbolize feelings of inadequacy in dealing with recurring challenges or fears that refuse to go away.
Overall, this dream could reflect your feelings about situations in your life that you find threatening or chaotic, particularly those that may involve endings, transitions, or vulnerabilities. It might be encouraging you to confront these feelings directly, finding a balance between your instincts and the playful aspects of life. It may also suggest that you need to address ongoing challenges rather than simply trying to eliminate them.
